Good Intentions
Each New Year is a time that inspires reflective thinking and forward planning; What I have I achieved? What haven't I achieved? What do I want to achieve this year...?! With social media being saturated with people sharing their resolutions and goals how could it not?! This time of year can be tough - leading us to put unnecessary pressures on ourselves ‘New Year, New You’, who says there needs to be a new you?! What is wrong with the old you?!
This New Year I got to thinking a little differently to past years, inspired by some lovely people who share their thoughts over on Instagram and have a wonderful way of viewing life and the world. This led me to realise I love the notion of New Years resolutions but not the practicalities, I don’t want to spend the next few months beating myself up for failing my not totally achievable resolutions so instead I am setting myself three Good Intentions. These are to be kinder - to others and myself, to be present and enjoy the moment and to breathe - when it feels like the world is pushing against me.
To serve as a reminder for these intentions so they don't fall by the wayside like some of those pesky resolutions do I have made a range of unisex necklaces to wear as a mindful talisman. In keeping with being kind these talismen are made by hand from 100% recycled silver, I have listed them in my online shop with three intentions to choose from or the option to choose your own intention.
Rather serendipitously a few lovely people/companies I love have been on the same wavelength as me this new year, so if this post resonates with you I strongly recommend checking out the following;
A Girl & Grey, this beautiful Aussie blogger Sharni talks about being more present and enjoying the moment more in the height of Summer which she often finds sneaks by. I will taking inspiration from her bucket list for when the warmer winter months arrive, read more about her summer bucket list here.
Blue Jay Of Happiness blog, Kat, the lovely lady behind Blue Jay of Happiness offers wisdom beyond her years and I always finish reading her words feeling inspired. Kat has just launched her #monthofkind which you are all invited to join in with over on Instagram, read more here.
The Self Care Company, I was beyond excited to see the launch of this vegan and eco friendly company's new tshirt range just after I had finished designing these pieces, their ethos Crafted With Kindness just gives you those warm fuzzy feels too!
I would love to hear about your intentions and resolutions for 2018, comment below or over on Instagram!
